General Roofing Questions
We cover most types of roofing work, from small repairs through to complete new roofs. This includes pitched roofs, fibreglass flat roofs, three-layer felt roofs, liquid rubber roofing, guttering, fascias and soffits.
We carry out roof repairs as well as full replacements, so a problem with your roof doesn’t necessarily mean you need a new one. We can take a look at the roof, find out what is causing the problem and advise you on what needs doing.
Yes. We can inspect the roof to find where the water is getting in and what is causing it. It could be damaged tiles or slates, roofing felt, leadwork or another part of the roof, so it is worth having it properly checked rather than guessing where the leak is coming from.
Yes. Loose, cracked and missing tiles or slates are all repairs we can deal with. It is best to get them looked at before water gets into the roof and causes further damage.
We can take a look and establish what is causing it. A dip in the roof can sometimes be caused by damage to the timber framework underneath. Where necessary, we can access the roof structure through the loft or attic and replace damaged timber as part of the repair.
Yes. We repair cracked or missing leadwork around chimneys, adjoining walls and other vulnerable parts of the roof. We can also repoint walls and chimney stacks where the mortar has deteriorated.
New Roofs and Flat Roofing
Yes. We install new roofs for homes and commercial properties, including replacement roofs, extensions and new builds. This can include the roof structure, roofing felt, tiles or slates, leadwork and the roofline.
Yes. If you are planning a new roof and would like to include a Velux window or skylight, speak to us about it when we are discussing the roof design.
We offer three flat roofing options: fibreglass, three-layer felt and liquid rubber roofing. If you are not sure which would suit your property, we can talk you through the options and what would work best for the roof.
A fibreglass roof creates a tough, weather-resistant finish over a prepared roof deck. The fibreglass laminate is applied to the roof before a protective topcoat is added. We also install new roofing boards rather than simply laying the fibreglass over an old roof deck.
Yes, but it needs to be planned for from the start. If the flat roof is going to be walked on or used as a terrace, the joists and roof deck need to be suitable for the additional weight.
It is a flat roofing system made up of three layers of roofing felt, with a mineral-finished layer on top. The different layers work together to create a strong, waterproof roof. Our new three-layer flat roof installations come with a ten-year guarantee.
Liquid rubber roofing can be used to create a waterproof finish on flat roofs. Because it goes on as a liquid before curing, it is also useful for roofs where the material needs to work around features such as vents or skylights.
That depends on the roofing system, but we don’t simply cover over an old roof deck when installing our fibreglass or liquid rubber roofs. A new roof deck is installed to give the new roofing system a sound, even base.
Guttering, Fascias and Soffits
Yes. We install and repair guttering as well as fascias and soffits. If your guttering is leaking, damaged or needs replacing as part of other roofing work, we can include this when we look at the job.
Yes. We install uPVC fascias and soffits, either as part of a complete roofline installation or alongside other roofing work. We can also look at existing roofline components that need repairing.
